For each limited edition in the Shredder Portfolio Series, an artist and writer are invited to collaborate on a project directly addressing the exciting and unpredictable relationship between text and image. The only parameter is that the edition must be housed in a hardbound portfolio. Past collaborators include Brice Brown, Chuck Webster, Trevor Winkfield, and John Yau. They are included in such public collections as the Baltimore Museum of Art, Dartmouth College’s Ruaner Special Collections Library, the Speed Museum, the Whitney Museum of American Art, and the Yale University Beineke Rare Book and Manuscript Library, among others.
Sienese Shredder Editions is an artist-run enterprise that publishes the Shredder Porfolio Series, as well as The Sienese Shredder—an annual volume that brings together poetry, critical writing, visual arts, design, unpublished rarities, oddball ephemera, and other objects of creative culture.
